I bought the Save The Hero Reader because the OSCR build was a bit beyond my wheelhouse. It took about a month to arrive but it worked right out of the box. I like the retro futuristic style of mine and most importantly it lets me save copies of my old games, including the save files for several Cartridges that used that. It was also helpful in detecting Chinese knockoffs I didn't realize I had. Overall it lets me bring some of my old game collection into modern conveniences to enjoy on my modern devices easily enough. It's as much of a backup utility as it is a bringing your collection into modern times especially now that even my iPhone can run my games pretty well! Again the quality of the builds for the Save The Hero is there and even after I received some more adapters their support was helpful in figuring out how to upgrade my firmware for my Reader that was on an old version that needed an upgrade. I was able to use the adapters right away and so the team at Save The Hero did another great job! Thank You for helping me Save My Hero's
This GG Adapter shipped quickly in protective packaging, and it works perfectly with my OSCR Hardware version 5, firmware 13.1! I simply put the adapter in the MegaDrive/Genesis slot, put the GG game in the adapter's slot, then navigate to SMS/GG/MIII/SG-1000, then pick GameGear Retrode. It reads and recognizes the games, and they appear in the GG folder of my SD card. The adapter feels strong and well-built. I am so thankful!
Have only tested on Snes at the moment but love the functionality
This is a great tool! Definitely some things to figure out and had to re-clean carts, and re-seat into adapter (NES) regularly, but it does what it is supposed to do!
Item arrived in perfect condition. I’ve been able to dump save files from my retro games to my computer for preservation. (Especially helpful with Pokémon cartridges!)
I had one issue with updating firmware, and STH walked me through it over email. They were prompt, and we got it resolved flawlessly.

I've been interested in the V3-Alter for a long while. I like the look of the hardware, and unlike other cartridge dumpers it's able to adapt to other systems with add-on board.
When my arrived it sadly was missing the SD Card Reader, an issue from the manufacturer. When I brought it up to support the missing components were quickly shipped out. With everything I needed.
Learning the software and programming the Arduino wasn't easy especially since the default firmware didn't include Atari or Virtual Boy systems. But after some trial and error I was able to get it to work.
But then I ran into issues with the Lynx adapter. It looked fine. But the software bugged out. The seller again assisted and we were able to confirm it was a software issue not the hardware. For those trying at home. Go to an older firmware to see if it works. 14.7 is the newest firmware I tested which didn't just infinity looped AUDIN=0 BLOCK=2048.
Overall I am happy with my hardware even if the software is not perfect. I am also extremely pleased with the seller. They fixed error when it was noticed, and went above an beyond to assist me when I ran into trouble.
